2 Months Voluntary Work Malaysia

I've been living in Malaysia from September to November 2014. Here, I was doing some voluntary work for Durex in order to spread awareness of STIs / STDs, organized by Aiesec. Back then, I honestly didn't really enjoy my time; we haven't had much work to do and lived in the middle of nowhere so it was rather boring than anything else. But looking back to it now, I really appreciate the time. Since we were based in Kuching, which is in Sarawak on the Borneo Island, I had the chance to get to know the "real" local life. This part of Malaysia is not as touristy as the main island. I discovered places that I would have probably never even thought about visiting. We've been to many national parks that were basically jungles, hiked next to monkeys, climbed up steep mountains for hours (partly 90 degrees), saw real-life Orangutans, spotted the rarest jungle flower "Rafflesia", relaxed in natural hot springs, explored fairy caves and of course I was able to eat DURIAN. Other than that I had amazing friends, lots of fun and yea also the fact that most of the locals wanted to take pictures with me or even an autograph didn't as much bother me as I enjoyed feeling like a celebrity :D

The weirdness of Denmark

- English version below -  Hallo Freunde der Sonne,  gestern als ich zur International Night im Studenthuset war (wie mittlerweile jeden Mittwoch), wurde ich doch glatt darauf hingewiesen, dass ich einen neuen Blogpost schreiben soll, also: here we are. Mittlerweile bin ich seit über einem Monat hier.... ihr erwartet jetzt bestimmt einen Satz wie "krass wie schnell die Zeit vergeht" aber möööp falsch ich würde eher sagen "fühlt sich viel länger an", kann jetzt entweder daran liegen, dass ich so unglaublich viel erlebt habe in diesen ersten Tagen oder auch am Fakt, dass ich an unifreien Tagen doch viel Langeweile habe... wie auch immer, im heutigen Post muss ich euch einfach erzählen was für crazy Dinge hier in Dänemark geschehen und daher der Hinweis: ich übertreibe nicht und erzähle wirklich die Wahrheit! :D P.S. It's been a while

*English version below* Okay ich denke, dass mit dem “Tut mir leid, dass ich so unregelmäßig poste, das wird sich ab jetzt ändern” können wir uns mittlerweile sparen… Ich bin einfach zu beschäftigt mit dem normalen Leben :D Also freut euch einfach über diesen Post, ich freue mich auf jeden Fall, dass ihr ihn lest :) Fast 1 Jahr Dänemark und ich muss sagen, mein Verhältnis zu diesem Land hat sich nicht wirklich verbessert (es ist unfassbar wie frustrierend Wind sein kann #nichtlustig), aber es ist machbar. Und abgesehen von den ganzen dänischen Hindernissen, war das letzte Semester hier eigentlich ziemlich großartig und soooo viel besser als die ersten Monate. Was natürlich hauptsächlich mit den tollen Menschen zusammenhängt, die ich dieses Jahr kennen gelernt habe. Winnie OUT!

Adios Aalborg, hello Berlin! It's time to say the final good bye to Denmark and turn the page in the book of life. Get a life update in the following post. Enjoy! - Deutsche Version weiter unten - So this is it, my Denmark experience is officially over. As most of you know, I was never really a fan of Aalborg... or Denmark (gooosh that wind), but yeah surprisingly I do have mixed feelings about leaving for good now. After all, this experiences did have its good sites; starting with the fact that the I’ve met this one Bulgarian guy, who I now move to Berlin with (more about that later).
