Travelling on a Budget: Cheap Furniture in Aalborg
So you are an international student who just arrived in Aalborg and then realize you need furniture to feel comfortable in your new home. The only problem: you don't have much money... I know the struggle is real, so let me provide you with some insider tipps about the best places to get cheap furniture in Aalborg:1. IKEA
Probably not a surprise but IKEA is the cheapest way
to get new furniture. Furthermore they offer a furniture taxi so I you don’t
have to take care of transportation, which is very nice in case you are an
international student, who came to Aalborg without a car.
2. Facebook Groups
- Aalborg Market
- Salg af tøj, sko osv. for Nordjylland og Aalborg omegn!
- Aalborg Free Stuff
3. Second Hand Stores
Apparently there are a lot of Second Hand Stores
around the city of Aalborg. I’ll list some of them I’ve went to:
- Danmission Genbrug Norressundby (huuuuge store with everything you need)
- Danmission Genbrug Aalborg (a little bit smaller but still worth a visit)
- Kirkens Genbrug (they don’t have that much furniture, but you can be lucky)
4. Discounter and Supermarkets
Looking through the weekly advertisements of Netto, Aldi, Lidl and Co can be good if you search for basic furniture or decoration. For example we got a big mirror at Fakta, some smaler ones at Rema 1000 and lamps from Rema 1000 too. Plants are surprisingly cheap at Lidl.
5. Have a look around!
Danish people have the thing to just put furiture which they don't want anymore infront of their doors. So if you walk around keep your eyes open - I've found our clothes hanger for drying and some legs for my bed that way.
6. Guloggratis.dk
www.guloggratis.dk is a danish website where private people sell there stuff... erveything is in danish so it's a bit hard if you don't speak danish, but the good thing is you can directly call them so it conditions of buying will be clarified right the way...
